The Bayeux Tapestry comes to London

For the first time in nearly a millennium, the legendary Bayeux Tapestry will cross the Channel to be displayed at the British Museum in London. This extraordinary exhibition marks a momentous cultural exchange between the United Kingdom and France, with treasures from British collections journeying to Normandy in return.
Join us on Thursday 22 October 2026 for an exclusive Arts Society coach visit to witness this remarkable 70-metre masterpiece—an enduring thread of history woven nearly a thousand years ago.
This is not a guided tour but an opportunity to spend the day exploring the Bloomsbury area, with the added convenience of a luxury coach dropping you directly outside the British Museum. Once there, you may choose to view one of the Museum’s other famous treasures— such as the Rosetta Stone—enjoy a drink or meal in one of its many cafés, or indulge in Afternoon Tea at the Great Court Restaurant.
If you wish to venture further, the Museum is within easy walking distance of numerous restaurants, shops, and other cultural attractions: Covent Garden (20 minutes walk), the beautiful Fitzrovia Chapel (12 minutes walk), or travel via Tottenham Court Road underground station (5 minutes walk).
